More Information about the Certificates

The cost of these courses is the same regardless of the student’s location: $843.00 per credit hour plus plus Library and Information Technology Assessment of $18.00 per credit hour, and since all of our courses are 4 credit hours, the cost of one course is $3,444.00 US. Please click here for more information on the Online Program Tuition Guide.

Upon completion of the 3 courses, you will receive a Certificate of Completion. Should you wish to pursue your studies and apply to our Master of Engineering degree program, you will have to submit an application and an official copy of your undergraduate transcripts. Transcripts are not required when you apply to the certificate programs, but you must provide proof of a baccalaureate degree. And provided that you receive grades of A or B, you may transfer the 3 courses into the MEng program.

We follow the same schedule as the rest of the University; we offer courses in the Fall, Spring and Summer semesters.

Disaster Management Online Certificate Program

As a graduate certificate program, the Disaster Management online certificate program does not result in a degree; therefore, financial aid is not offered for this program. However, certificate students may wish to look into alternative loans, also known as private loans. These are educational loans offered through a bank or other financial lender. Scholarships

The Alliance of Hazardous Materials and Professionals – Chicago chapter offers annually one $1500 Environmental Scholarship  in collaboration with DePaul University, University of  Illinois at Chicago and Illinois Institute of Technology.  The goal of the program is to support students who are investing in their future to the protection of the environment.  Students who are in the Emergency Management & Continuity Planning certificate program  or pursuing a career in an environmental field,  a full or part-time students at any of the three aforementioned schools and a junior, senior or graduate student in a degree or certificate program are eligible to apply.
